YMCA Nursery brought a wave of seaside fun to its outdoor area with a special Beach Party, bringing a beach to their outdoor space. Children, along with parents and guardians, were invited to join the fun, and enjoy the beach-themed activities.

Throughout the afternoon children made sandcastles, splashed in the water fountains, played beach-themed games and welcomed a very special guest. Much to the delight of the children Stanley the donkey, visited with his owner Holly from Hardys Farm. His appearance was certainly a highlight of the event that helped bring a traditional seaside-feel to the afternoon.

The Nursery’s Chef serving freshly cooked fish and chips provided an authentic taste of the coast and to complete the experience, everyone enjoyed ice cream with sprinkles, which was a hit with both children and adults alike.

Parent Jamie Scott shared, “The Beach Party was great fun, it was lovely to see all the children and families together and seeing my son Leo having an amazing time building sandcastles.  What an amazing surprise seeing the Stanley the donkey! It was a fun afternoon and it’s events like these that make YMCA Nursery really special.”

Laura Richmond, Nursery Manager, said, “Organising the Beach Party was such fun! It’s events like these that really capture the spirit of what we offer at YMCA Nursery. We’re always looking for creative ways to enrich the children’s experiences and bring our community together. This event is a perfect example of the extra-curricular activities we plan to make special memories for our children and their families.”

MKM Building Supplies, Newark generously donated sand and Aasleff Ground Engineering the wooden sleepers. Helping make YMCA Nursery’s Beach Party a resounding success.
