Three Peaks Challenge  

Saturday 17 May 2025

Take on the iconic Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and turn your love for adventure into life-changing support for young people. Conquer 24 miles and three summits while raising funds that could support YMCA scholarships, youth programs, and community initiatives. 

  • 24 miles, three peaks: Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, and Whernside in under 12 hours.   
  • Expert support with guides, a team, and resupply stops.

Tandem Skydiving Challenge 

Saturday 15 June 2025

Jump from 14,000ft to raise funds for transformative opportunities for young people in our community. Your skydive will directly support scholarships, youth memberships, Camp Williams holiday day camps, and other essential YMCA programmes. Proceeds will also help build outdoor learning spaces like a Forest School at the YMCA Village, fostering confidence, resilience, and teamwork through hands-on experiences.    

  • Location: Langar Airfield 
  • £60 registration fee   
  • Recommended £395 sponsorship, with at least £170 collected one month prior.

Take on the 180 Challenge by completing 180 of something meaningful to you – whether it’s 180 sit-ups, walking 180km, baking 180 cupcakes, or selling 180 items. Join us for one night only to sleep out under the stars and bring the local community together for an unforgettable night of fundraising.

Together, we’ll raise the profile of the young homeless in our town and highlight the critical issue of mental health care within our community.

  • Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
    • What is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge? 

    The challenge is a 24-mile circular trek in the Yorkshire Dales, where participants summit three peaks—Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, and Whernside—within 12 hours or less.   

     

    • Who can take part in the challenge?  

    The challenge is open to individuals, teams, schools, and businesses looking for an exciting physical challenge while raising funds for YMCA community initiatives.   

     

    • How much does it cost to take part? 

     A £30 deposit is required upon booking, and participants must raise a minimum of £190 in sponsorship.   

     

    • What does my fundraising target cover?   

    £95 of the £190 target covers the cost of the challenge, including guides and support. All additional funds raised go directly to YMCA to support youth programmes and community projects.   

     

    • How do I fundraise for the event?   

    Complete all your details on the YMCA Three Peaks fundraising page.  Resources and support will be provided to help you reach your target.  Reach out on your social media channels and in person to friends, family and colleagues – you can copy the link to your own fundraising page and encourage them to help you reach your target.  Although you need to raise a minimum of £190 – you can challenge yourself on your fundraising page to reach a higher target.  You can change your target goal at any time. 

     

    • What support is available during the challenge?   

    Qualified Mountain Leaders will guide you, and a support team with a 4×4 vehicle will meet you at designated rest stops with snacks, drinks, and water to keep you going.   

     

    • Do I need to bring my own food and water?   

    Yes, participants are responsible for their own food and water for the challenge, but the support team will transport any personal supplies to key rest points. Complimentary snacks and drinks will also be provided.   

     

    • What fitness level do I need to complete the challenge?   

    This is a physically demanding challenge. You should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable walking long distances over rough terrain.   

     

    • What happens if I can’t complete the challenge?   

    The support team will be on hand to assist anyone who wishes to exit the challenge early and transport them to a safe location.   

     

    • When and where does the challenge start?   

    The challenge begins at Chapel-le-Dale with a start time between 6:30am and 7:00am on Saturday 18th May 2025.   

     

    • What should I wear and bring with me?   

    Participants should wear suitable hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring essentials such as food, water, a daypack, and any personal supplies needed for the day. A full kit list will be provided upon registration.
