Parent Communication, Feedback & Collaboration

A huge amount of trust goes into enrolling your child into nursery, and that’s not something we take for granted. Children spend a lot of time at nursery, and it’s important that the role we play is shared and collaborative with parents.

Y's Girls Mentoring

Open Door Policy

Parents are encouraged to pop in during nursery hours every now and then to see how we do things and what children are getting involved in. There’s no need to book, however occasionally we may not be able to accommodate visits if there is not a staff member available.

Y's Girls Mentoring

Parent’s Forum

Every term we hold a collaborate breakfast for parents to hear news from the nursery, and to capture your feedback and ideas that drive our nursery forward. It’s a great chance to get to know our staff, and meet other parents too.

Security and Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of children at YMCA Nursery is our number one priority. We hold our team to the highest possible standards, and have processes in place to keep all in our care safe and happy:

  • Restricted key-card access with dedicated reception
  • Password system for collecting children
  • Compulsory safeguarding training for all Nursery and support staff, plus DBS checks every term
  • High-spec CCTV in operation at all times

You may always discuss any concerns or questions you have with Laura, our Nursery Manager, or Cath, our Operations Manager for Early Years. YMCA Robin Hood Group also has a dedicated Safeguarding Officer, Jo Bradley-Fortune, who you may email at jo.bradley@ymcarhg.org.

Feedback and Complaints

If you have questions or concerns about the quality of your child’s care, you firstly should speak to Cath Shotton, our Operations Manager for Early Years, who can be called on 07787 178 269.

If we cannot resolve your concern through discussion, you may submit a formal written complaint. Full information can be found in our Parent Handbook. Our Ofsted Registration number is RP903314.
