Would you like to work on local green space projects as a family?

YMCA is grateful to have been awarded £50,000 by the Social Prosperity Fund to deliver a new programme for families in Clipstone, Bilsthorpe, Rainworth, Blidworth, and Ollerton from January to March 2023.

We’re looking forward to seeing families come together to work on green space projects in their local area, such as bird box building and litter picks. The benefits for families who choose to get involved are numerous – getting out in nature, making friendships with other families, building a sense of community, making your local area more beautiful, natural, and sustainable, being physically active, and enhancing your own family’s sense of togetherness.

The weekly sessions will be free for all. Choose from mid-week or weekend sessions, as suits your family schedule – mid-week might suit families with pre-school children, and weekends are more likely to suit families with children in school. Families of all shapes and sizes are warmly welcome (grandparents, mixed households, everyone!). Why not take time together to care for your local environment and community? We look forward to meeting everyone involved, from the youngest to the oldest.
