YMCA Newark and Sherwood is pleased to announce that an official launch ceremony to unveil ‘Phase One’ of the charity’s impressive new Community and Activity Village will be held on Monday 12 November.

The day of celebration will begin with the ribbon cutting ceremony at the village’s location on Lord Hawke Way, in Newark, followed by a drinks reception at Newark Town Hall.

The event will formally launch the newly established YMCA Newark and Sherwood charity and plans for ‘Phase Two’ of the village’s development.

High profile speakers

Being unveiled at the launch ceremony will be the recently completed Athletics provisions and state-of-the-art 3G pitches, including a community pitch for training, sport and football plus a stadia pitch to support our local clubs.

In addition to being compered by British actor, Collin Wells, high profile key speakers throughout the day will include double Paralympic 200m Gold Medallist Richard Whitehead MBE, professional female footballer Laura Bassett, and British campaigner Claire Lomas MBE who completed the 32nd Virgin London Marathon in 17 days using the ReWalk robotic suit.

Delegates will have the opportunity to meet our team and fellow guests, along with viewing plans and images for the exciting second phase of this visionary project, which will bring jobs and opportunities across the region.
