Casual Café & Events Assistants

Our café and events assistants greet clients at the YMCA Community & Activity Village in Newark.

Café & Events Assistants support the smooth running of our Community Café and Conferencing space.

Working as part of our team, we offer you shifts as part of the planned rota, to support large events but also for last minute emergencies to cover sickness, holidays etc.

Members of our Casual team, are under no obligation to accept shifts offer but we would hope that you would be flexible and accommodating to work with us to ensure we have the cover we need to operate to our full potential.

On a day to day basis, you can expect your role to include:

• Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Village Café.
• Serving drinks and food products efficiently and politely, including for bespoke events and conference facilities.
• Supporting the Hospitality Team in setting up, setting down and delivering events
• Clean and tidy the café, bar and conference areas on shifts, being mindful of safe working practices

If you are looking to work more flexibly and not be tied down to a specific rota but still looking to work, this could be an ideal role for you!  Periods such as evening and weekends are likely to be key times our Casual staff are called upon.
