We look forward to meeting you and your little ones!

Stay and Play

Happening every Friday from 10am-11:30am. Stay and Play is our session for parents and children to play at the YMCA Nursery at the Village.

One of the fun things to do at Stay and Play is messy play! It’s a great way for your baby or toddler to explore different materials and textures, learn about cause and effect and to develop motor and language skills.

Come along for a play session, take a look around our Nursery and meet other local parents.

Sessions are £2.60 per week or £15.00 for 6-week block booking.

Due to demand, places must be booked in advance.

Our facilities set us apart, but what truly makes us different is our holistic approach to childcare and development. The YMCA ethos is centred around offering children and young people a place to belong, contribute and thrive and the YMCA Nursery will be the starting point on your child’s journey to building fundamental skills and values that will set them up for life.

Our child-centric approach puts your child first, supports them to find their passions, and builds a care plan that encourages and nurtures everything that is unique and special about them.

Just like you would do at home.

We also benefit from the wide range of facilities on our doorstep in the Village in the climbing centre, football, outdoor sports, dancing and bike skills, to name a few. We are passionate about including parents and carers as much as we can with children’s learning and development. We will host regular parent, grandparent, carer or family drop-in day sessions where you can play and be involved in everyday activities with your child. We will also host a parents’ forum where we’ll work together to continually improve our offering for you and your child.

Leaving your child for the first time can be daunting, and so we operate an ‘open door’ policy where parents are welcome to speak to us at any time and your child’s key person will be there at the beginning and end of the day to talk to you and your child, ensuring that you are fully informed and confident that your child is happy, healthy, thriving and having lots of fun.

If you have children under 5, why not access the extra government support of £160 per child per week and bring them to the YMCA Nursery at the Village? Our outstanding facilities and staff will nurture your children while you learn.

Care to Learn can help with the cost of:

  • Your childcare, including deposit and registration fees
  • A childcare taster session for up to 5 days
  • Keeping your childcare place over the summer holidays

Childcare payments go directly to YMCA as your childcare provider.
