YMCA Nursery at the Village
Come and look around the brand-new YMCA Nursery at the Village, and see our three age-related rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school age children.
Ofsted registered, with funded places available we encourage curiosity and imagination through play and exercise. A truly inspiring place to be for young minds to belong, contribute and thrive.
Because it takes a village to raise a child…
Stay and Play
Happening every Friday from 10am-11:30am. Stay and Play is our brand new FREE session for parents and children to play at the YMCA Nursery at the Village.
One of the fun things to do at Stay and Play is messy play! It’s a great way for your baby or toddler to explore different materials and textures, learn about cause and effect and to develop motor and language skills.
Come along for a free play session, take a look around our brand new Nursery and meet other local parents. Due to demand, places must be booked in advance.
Story Time in the Café
Held every Monday from 1.30pm in the YMCA Village Café, Story Time is our FREE storytelling session for young children. Every week, staff from the YMCA Nursery will be reading different stories which are enhanced by using props, puppets, actions and songs to make the stories fun and engaging.
Early literacy is vital for children to learn and become passionate about. Learning different words and hearing them in every day language becomes the foundation steps to children becoming confident learners.
All children will have a key person that will support the child and family

The setting also benefits from a fully fitted onsite kitchen, milk kitchen, sensory room and large, landscaped outdoor space for the children to run and play, they’ll explore the outside world making their own adventures with teepees, mud kitchen and allotments.

Our facilities set us apart, but what truly makes us different is our holistic approach to childcare and development. The YMCA ethos is centred around offering children and young people a place to belong, contribute and thrive and the YMCA Nursery will be the starting point on your child’s journey to building fundamental skills and values that will set them up for life.
Our child-centric approach puts your child first, supports them to find their passions, and builds a care plan that encourages and nurtures everything that is unique and special about them.

We are passionate about including parents and carers as much as we can with children’s learning and development. We will host regular parent, grandparent, carer or family drop-in day sessions where you can play and be involved in everyday activities with your child. We will also host a parents’ forum where we’ll work together to continually improve our offering for you and your child.
Leaving your child for the first time can be daunting, and so we operate an ‘open door’ policy where parents are welcome to speak to us at any time and your child’s key person will be there at the beginning and end of the day to talk to you and your child, ensuring that you are fully informed and confident that your child is happy, healthy, thriving and having lots of fun.Register your interest
