Welcome to YMCA Nursery

Seeing children grow and thrive is at the heart of everything we do. YMCA Nursery is an empowering, imaginative space that supports children to build skills, confidence and friendship.

Our curriculum flexes to each child’s individual needs and interests, and every space, toy and activity we run has been designed to nurture child-led play and creativity. Supported by world-leading youth development research, our fun, engaging spaces are here for your child to grow in confidence and capability every single day.

Children are our purpose. Our nursery has been built from a belief that every child should have the chance to discover who they are and what they can become. Better yet, our nursery is 100% not-for-profit, and run by YMCA Robin Hood Group, a registered youth charity and part of the world’s oldest movement for children and young people.

We can’t wait to meet you and your family!

Our Core Values

Children at YMCA are encouraged and praised for showing our Core Values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Children love to recognise these special behaviours in themselves and their peers, and we love to celebrate them with thank-yous and award certificates.

Engaging children with these values is a fun but impactful way of supporting their social and emotional development, helping them along as they grow into kind, thoughtful and community-minded individuals.

We live our values throughout YMCA, and they are just important for young people and grown-ups too. You’ll find older children in our youth programmes, staff and even parents are celebrated and thanked when they demonstrate one of our values!
