In the spirit of UK National Apprentice Week, YMCA Robin Hood Group is proudly spotlighting its commitment to fostering apprentice opportunities across its diverse organisation. From 5th to 11th February, this celebration serves as a nationwide platform to showcase the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses, and the broader economy.

Within the YMCA Robin Hood Group, apprentice roles span various sectors, reflecting the charity’s dedication to providing comprehensive career development opportunities. From early years childcare to finance, marketing, human resources, supported housing, and residential children’s care homes, the YMCA offers a wide array of pathways for apprentices to explore and grow within their chosen fields. “Apprenticeships are a fantastic route into work, especially for young people. Our YMCA exists to help people discover who they are and what they can become, so we feel it’s important to champion apprenticeships as a way for people to do just that” says Todd Cauthorn, Chief Strategy and Compliance Officer.

YMCA’s approach to apprenticeships has supported people in changing their careers. Ellen Beavis, a former FE teacher with 15 years of experience, transitioned to a Digital Marketing apprentice role at YMCA. Reflecting on her journey, Ellen, now a member of the Marketing team, “The marketing team at YMCA offered me a second chance, and that gesture means a lot to me. Despite not fitting the ‘standard’ apprentice mould, they believed in my potential, and I embarked on a new career path. Throughout my time here, everyone at YMCA has provided unwavering support, and advice.”
